the nugget :]

6 months.

Soooo its been six months since my stroke. Ive come a long way i know it. From being paralyzed on left side to moving again to regaining control of my muscles. I have hemiparesis which basically means weakness on the left side of my body but months of therapy later im much stronger than ive been. I walk without a cane n i cant walk very fast but ive managed to not srsly hurt myself. Im not 100% but im a lot less tired now. I today for the first time was able to carry milk with my left hand pour it into my coffee cup and then put it away without dropping it. I can txt with both hands not without error but its ok. Im responding well to therapy n personal training. My trainer Gerald actually has a physical therapy background and is doing training while he completes his doctorate. He is well worth the $110 session that you all ( my friends ) have made it possible to pay for especially since insurance caps therapy at 20 sessions annually. He pushes me really hard and ive been seeing grt results bc he always makes me do more than i think im capable of. My movements are still slow and awkward and my body gets really stiff when its cold and i still am gimpy but its much much btr than before.

I guess i cant complain. I have less bad days bc of the stroke now. Life hasnt been easy i do have other problems but recovery has become less of a problem. My hair is growing out and im starting to look more like myself again (im vain that hasnt changed).

But yea its been six months and i am doing okay.

Thanks for the support friends! Hopeful that by the time im done with school (2.5 years) ill b close to normal.
